cravings

People say pregger women crave weird things like pickles and ice cream. It's actually not too far off in my case. I have to say my only cravings are for 3 things which I eat separately!
- Pickled Banana peppers
- Pickles (Dill not sweet)
- Cheeseburgers (with extra pickles & onions)

Theory is that if you crave salty foods and pickles you are having a boy. We'll see!

Look what a shrimp can do!

6 weeks lentil bean ...... 13 weeks medium shrimp

Hey all,
Its Matty again. I have taken some pictures and think I'm going to continue to do so each week as it is pretty impressive to see how a change from lentil bean to shrimp can really show a difference. Obviously we see each other every day so it has been a subtle progression but as they say a picture tells a thousand words. This is pretty cool stuff, cant wait to see what a pumpkin will do to Dena's baby bump.
Also I am reading a book called Quarterback Dad by Bobby Mercer, pretty funny but learning a ton about what may be on the horizon. To give a glimpse it pits the dad to be as the qb, the mom to be as the head coach, and the baby to be as the owner. (I cant see dena taking orders from a lentil bean!)
Well hope everyone is having fun.

shrimp cockail anyone?

Today Lil is the size of a medium shrimp. I personally think this is the strangest comparison. Couldn’t they come up with something a little less offensive than seafood? Is there not another fruit or veggie of this size? What about an oreo cookie? Who doesn’t want an oreo cookie growing inside of them?!?!?

the nursery

filled in all nail holes in guest room

Work has begun on the nursery. The crown molding and the chair rail are done. Now I have to get the finish molding up. Not looking forward to about the 40 miter corners I'm going to have to cut.

While Grampa and Gramma Lohse where here last week they helped by Gramma filling in all the nail holes and Grampa hung an extra shelf in Lil' Bachs closet.

Gramma Lohse also helped by finishing off Lil's first quilt. I love to quilt, hate to bind and tie off.

From Matty

Hey Everyone,
Just figured I would give a shout out to let you all know that on occasion the Dad of this evolving fruit will be posting too. We just got back from a wonderful weekend with the Uncle, Aunt and cousins to be of our 2010 baby and are so grateful for fun times in western NY.

The most recent thing on my mind about our baby to be is ... "Can you teach a baby to be potty trained right out of the womb?" I changed a diaper for the first time ever and I must say I did a poor job at best. Thanks to my niece for her patience. I'm sure there will be more practice in my future whether I like it or not.

Love you all

sprite for the next 10 days

lime

Our little one is the size of a little lime

and boom goes the heartbeat

Today we are 12 weeks. At our doctor's appointment this afternoon we got to hear Lil Bachman's heartbeat. I cried, cause I'm a crier.
