we are blessed
I sit here at 7:30pm at night drinking a cup of hot tea with 2 sleeping human kids upstairs and 1 sleeping furry kid by my feet. The house is quiet, dirty as hell but quiet.
About 1 hour ago it was mad chaos. Bella has been screaming and crying since she got home from school. Something is making her uncomfortable and we can't figure it out. I think she's constipated. The other option is that she's turning 2 and her new life's mission is for me to go grey and for Matty to loose what hair he has left. (Sorry Babe). Charlie was screaming in reaction to his sister and due to the severe famine he was experiencing. He last ate 2 hours ago and apparently it takes a lot of milk to power his growing fat rolls. During this whole time Rubbles was circling like a shark around the kitchen island hoping to nab any of the chicken marsala that was being tossed around.
We did as we always do: we tag teamed, divide and conquer, 1:1 defense against the kids. Just as I'm calling victory and just about to put Charlie in his crib I jump on ESPN mobile news to read how everyone thinks the Packers are going to make Manning Salad and I see the news about Packers Offensive Coordinator's son has gone missing and is reported to be found that he drowned in the Fox River.
I stopped and put down my iphone and I held Charlie tight. Just a few mins prior I thought we had a painful night but now my mind is changed, we had a great night because we are all healthy, happy and together.
We are blessed.
