7 lbs 6 oz

We had our first doctor's appointment for the Bella Bear this morning. Everything is going great especially the feeding.... she is already 7lbs 6oz.... she's our little chunky monkey!

Rubbles has been the best big brother. He noticed something was different about me right away. He smelled me for a long time when I first walked in the door. He actually smelled my belly. He at first didn't notice Bella until she make her first squeak and then he ran around the house looking for where the sound came from. Now he's smitten with her just as much as we are. He always lays by whoever is holding her. They are going to be as thick as thieves one day.

After 6 days in the hospital the Bachman family now plus 1 got bundled up and headed home. It was sunny but bitter cold. Welcome to the great Maine outdoors Bella.

This post is supposed to be about bath time but Bella turned it into something else. Matty and I were getting a lesson in sponge baths in the nursery. Just after the nurse cleaned her bum we heard a shot gun go off and projectile poop sprayed 3-4 feet across the room and straight into her bassinet. We have the pictures to prove it. 30 seconds earlier Matty would have been in the line of fire.

Bella really enjoyed bath time. Her favorite part is the rinse and shampoo.

Just like at the salon, the Nurse didn't let us go until she combed and styled her little hair. The finishing touch - a pink bow.

We are so fortunate to have such loving family and friends. Here’s some of our vistors over the last few days.

The birthing center here at Maine Medical is amazing. Although we have been here for a bit longer than expected the staff and everyone has made us feel comfortable at all times. Words can not express my gratitude to our doctors and nurses. They will forever have a special place in my heart for taking such good care of my little nugget.Since the center is only a year old, all the rooms are private and up to date. Not to mention the view from our room is pretty sweet.

Bella Marie Bachman

Hello all,

Bella has arrived. She was born on 1-24-10 and weighed in at 6lbs 14oz and measured 21 inches long. We have been posting pics on facebook and when we get more we will share more. This little girl is READY! All her cute tights, socks and shoes are all nicely organized by size in her top drawer. I LOVE TIGHTS!

I started to do some organizing/decorating in the playroom (former dinning room). I can't believe how much stuff the Bellster already has!

As you can see, Rubbles is making himself at home.

traveling little girl

On my walk with Rubbles this morning I started thinking about my pregnancy and how much I have loved the last 9 months. I started to get a little sad that it's almost over but got really excited for what's to come. Looking back I thought about all the traveling I've done with the BellaMonster and it's pretty crazy - in utero, here's all the states that me and my Bells have been to together:

Hey everyone,

We had another appointment today...37 weeks! Wow 3 weeks or less till I'm a dad. For all of you that guessed she is going late...we have dilation!! 1cm. That doesn't mean much but to me it means only 9cm to go before Bella is HERE!! The heartbeat at these appointments is the best sound in the world, it is reassuring and peaceful. We will keep you posted and if you aren't excited now wait a week we may have more cm's to report!
